Unlike the massive glass towers that dominate the skyline, 88 Townsend offers something rare. The original California Warehouse was a one-story structure built in an era when single-story warehouses lined the waterfront. Few survive today, making this preservation all the more remarkable.
Originally built in 1882, the warehouse was transformed in the early 21st century into over one hundred residences. Two original exterior walls were preserved and incorporated into the new design, creating a warmth and authenticity that no new construction can match.
